St. Luke’s $10,000 Weight Loss Challenge
Big - but AWESOME - Changes for 2017!
We want to encourage positive lifestyle changes, and weight loss that is SUSTAINABLE. We know that losing 20-30% of your total body weight in 5 months is often not sustainable - and might encourage unhealthy habits. So we have made some positive changes for the 2017 Challenge!
Moderate Weight Loss
We know from research that when at-risk individuals lose 7% of their total body weight, they drastically reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain forms of cancer -- and greatly improve their overall health. So for 2017, the goal for participants is to lose 7% of their total body weight. Participants who reach that goal, and who meet the weigh-in requirements, can win cash!
Year Round Program
For 2017, the CHALLENGE will offer health tips, programs, cooking classes and weigh-ins for the entire year.
Keep it Off Cash Folks
For those participants who qualify for the KEEP IT OFF cash from the 2016 Challenge by making every weigh in and losing 5% of their total body weight - you still qualify! Your first weigh-in for 2017 must be no more than 2 pounds over your final weight from 2016. Maintain that weight (or lose some more) and you will also qualify for the cash incentives.
